Joining the Les Amis de Sergio Ortega association means actively contributing to the preservation, understanding and promotion of the work of this Chilean composer, whose music is closely connected to history, poetry, humanist commitment, social struggles and cultural exchanges between Europe and Latin America.

Sergio Ortega’s body of work is rich and diverse. It includes symphonic, vocal, instrumental, theatrical and popular works, as well as scores, manuscripts, recordings, correspondence and personal accounts that must be located, preserved, studied and passed on.

Why is your membership important?

The association works to ensure that Sergio Ortega’s works can continue to be studied, performed, heard, published and shared with new audiences.

Your membership helps us to:

• Raise awareness of his work among the public, musicians, researchers, teachers and cultural institutions.
• Document his life and creative work by collecting archives, personal accounts, photographs, programmes, articles and correspondence.
• Preserve and digitise the archives in order to prevent the dispersal or loss of scores, manuscripts and recordings.
• Support the publication and dissemination of his works so that they can be made accessible to performers, researchers and the public.
• Organise concerts and events, including meetings, conferences, screenings, exhibitions and study days.
• Promote his work in France and internationally by developing relationships with musical ensembles, conservatoires, universities, festivals and cultural institutions.
